The Mutsu apple (also known as Crispin) is a cross between the Golden Delicious and the Indo apple varieties first grown in Japan, and named after the Mutsu Province of Japan, where it was presumably first grown. Apple eaters say: I recently purchased Mutsu Apples in Oak Glen, CA. They are delicious for eating, make the best apple pie I've ever eaten and are terrific for applesauce also. They retain their shape in the pies and don't get all mushy in the applesauce. Would highly recommend this apple! Buy the Mitsu Apple Tree now
